The Rain
				The Story

       Nine year old foster child, Trent, knew he loved the
rain. What he didn't know were the dark and sinister
happenings that were about to befall him at his new foster
home -- happenings that would land him smack in the
middle of a nightmare from which he may never escape...    
     Children were disappearing in the small town of New
Bern, North Carolina, and its surrounding counties. Its
residents were baffled. To make matters worse, a total
lack of rain was causing one of the most severe droughts
in years. Farmers throughout the counties were suffering
the devastating effects of the drought.
     To Randy and his friends, the drought was a mere
inconvenience. It had indeed rained on their farms,
enriching their lands, enabling their crops to prosper.
Neighboring residents had no answers for the
phenomenon bestowing its fellow farms.
     Could it be that Randy and his friends had sold their
souls to the devil in exchange for rain, and unknowingly
unleashed an unforgiving monster that lived hovering in
the ground since the very existence of God?
